Publications

Paper Title: A Transformer Based Approach for Improved Rumor Classification from Tweet.
ICCIT 2023 Conference (IEEE Xplore) · 2nd Author, Feb 2024

  • Conducted comprehensive research on rumor detection in social media using machine learning algorithms (XGBoost, SVM, Random Forest) and deep learning-based transformers (BERT, DistilBERT).
  • Achieved highest accuracy (90.20%) with BERT among transformer-based models, surpassing classical machine learning models like SVM and Random Forest (89.05%).
  • Demonstrated efficacy in minimizing the impact of rumors on individuals, communities, and society.

Paper Title: An efficient deep learning approach for detecting lung disease from chest X-Ray images using transfer learning and ensemble modeling.
IEEE CSDE 2021 Conference (IEEE Xplore) · 1st Author, Mar 2022

  • Developed an automated approach for detecting lung diseases using chest X-ray images, aiming to enhance diagnosis and treatment processes in healthcare.
  • Implemented a weighted binary classifier leveraging deep neural networks such as Inception-v3, VGG16, and ResNet-50, achieving a significant improvement in accuracy compared to traditional methods.
  • Utilized transfer learning techniques and rigorous academic training and testing sets to fine-tune deep neural networks, resulting in a test accuracy of 88.14% with the proposed classifier.

Paper Title: Interpretable COVID-19 Classification Leveraging Ensemble Neural Network and XAI
BIOMESIP 2021 Conference (Springer Link) · 3rd Author, Oct 2021

  • Developed a rapid and efficient method for detecting COVID-19 using CT scan images, addressing the urgent need for diagnostic tools during the global pandemic.
  • Achieved significant accuracy rates: 85.33% with VGG16, 87.86% with VGG19, and 82.35% with ResNet101 in initial testing phases.
  • Engineered an ensemble model integrating the top three classifiers, resulting in an outstanding overall accuracy of 90.89% with COV19EXAI V1 and further improved to 91.82% with COV19EXAI V2.
  • Implemented eXplainable AI (XAI) techniques to enhance transparency and interpretability of the classification results, ensuring a deeper understanding of the diagnostic process.
