Empowering Voices through Freedom of Association and Worker Representation in Bangladesh's RMG Sector

The School of Law, Presidency University successfully organized a seminar titled Freedom of Association and Worker Representation in Bangladesh's RMG Sector: The Role of Fashion Brands and Employers on 14 July 2025, at the university's Conference Room.

Distinguished speakers Ms. Natalie Swan and Ms. Anitra Varia from the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre (UK) delivered insightful talks on labor rights, focusing on the role of fashion brands and employers in ensuring freedom of association in Bangladesh's RMG sector.

The session was chaired by Prof. Md. Azharul Islam, Dean of the School of Law. Welcome remarks were given by Md. Deedarul Islam Bhuiyan, Head of Department, and the event was moderated by Md. Asadullahil Galib, with Mr. Abuzar Gifari as co-moderator. Faculty members and students actively participated, making the seminar a meaningful academic exchange.
