Curriculum for ECE

Curriculum

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has designed the ECE curriculum of Presidency University. The curriculum satisfies the requirements of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET), USA, and has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh.

As Computer Engineering is now being recognized as an important area of Electrical Engineering (EE), EE departments of many universities in USA and UK and even in Asia now prefers ECE as the name of the undergraduate program instead of EEE or EE  (   http://ece-www.colorado.edu;    http://www.engineering.cornell.edu;  http://www.ece.neu.edu).

One of the advantages of the ECE program is that our graduates will get opportunity to apply for jobs in Electrical Engineering as well as in Computer Engineering. Offering the ECE program is thus a better choice for the Department of ECE. Like the Department of ECE of Presidency University, the Department of EEE of BUET has introduced courses in four major branches from 2004 (Power, Communications, Electronics and Computer Engineering).
