Presidency University organized an Orientation Program on 16th March 2014 for its newly admitted students of Spring semester. The program was held at Aman Conference Hall. It was presided over by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Vice Chancellor of Presidency University while the Chief Guest was Dr. Engr. M. Shamim Z. Basunia, P.Eng., President, Institute of Engineers in Bangladesh. In the program Special Guests were Prof. Dr. Tapan Kumar Chakroborti, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Dr. Ataur Rahman, Head, Civil Engineering Dept.

Dr. Engr. M. Shamim Z. Basunia commented that students should actively develop their mindset to serve the nation.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali argued that Presidency University believes in quality education. Among others Dr. Miah Mohammad Hussainuzzaman, Proctor, Norean Keya, Moderator of Cultural Club and Md. Jamal Hossain, Moderator of English Language Club were also present in the occasion. The speakers delivered their important speeches on various issues of the university and welcomed the freshers. The program was followed by a cultural show organized by the Cultural Club.
